FEMA is offering motel rooms for you and your animals they will pay for animal fees taxes and the cost of rooms all you have to do is call this number 1-800-621 3362 or go online and fill out the application to receive your motel voucher. Link in comments.

Bristol Motor Speedway has opened one of its campgrounds free to those displaced by the storm. The Medallion Campground is located off Highway 394 at 105 Medallion Drive, Bristol, TN 37620. Evacuees are instructed to use Entrance No. 3. People arriving will take an immediate right after entering the Dragway Entrance, then the campground is the first one of the left.

WATER AND FOOD

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee is on alert in the eight counties! If any county shelter or Emergency Management needs food or water please Call Tom Cromie Operations Director. 423-794-0448. We are ready to mobilize if needed. Individuals please don’t call use face book messager for locations for assistance.

Water distribution for Greene County residents ONLY. Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. All traffic will need to come in from 11-E Baileyton Access Ramp to Whitehouse Road to Airport Road.

Grace Baptist Church on 114 Broad Street will host a meal for people and need and first responders tonight. Doors open at 5 p.m., meal begins at 5:30 and lasts to 7 p.m.

Phil’s Dream Pit at 534 Eastern Star Road in Kingsport will have food available today for families in need from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Text 423-793-7899 for more information.

The Original Ridgewood Barbecue 900 Elizabethton Highway, Bluff City TN, is closed on Monday but would like to serve families in need. Individual orders will be served from 12:30 to 2:30. If you have been a victim of the flood damage and are able to get to Ridgewood, please come see them. If you have friends or family who are first responders, please reach out through messenger and they will try to deliver food.  

Embreeville Fire Department is serving meals to all folks in need of one at 5:00PM at 4061 Hwy 81 S.  They will serving a meal to all first responders at Incident Command at the crossroad of Hwys 81 S and 107.

PET SUPPLIES NEEDED

Second Harvest Food Bank of NE Tennessee is accepting pet foods and supplies.

Erwin Moose Lodge at 50 Jones Rd., Erwin is accepting items for the Unicoi Animal Shelter.  Specifically, they need respirator masks, HAZMAT-type suits, head lamps, extension cords, heavy duty surge protectors, gloves of all sizes, dehumidifiers, industrial fans.  Please donate pet foods to Second Harvest as they simply don’t have the room at this time.

The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County is in need of Purina Puppy Chow, Purina canned puppy food, Purina Cat Chow, Purina Kitten Chow, Fancy Feast (pate), cat toys, Nylabone dog chews, Kong toys, peanut butter, Cheerios, Cheese Wiz, chicken broth, dog treats, paper products, dish detergent, dog shampoo, bleach, laundry detergent, and puppy pads.

BarkBound at 694 Clinch Street in Kingsport is gathering donations for the Unicoi County Animal Shelter, which was destroyed by the floods. Items being sought include solar lights and battery powered lights, batteries, construction trash bags, snow shovels, respirator masks, hazmat suits, headlamps, extension cords, heavy duty surge protectors, gloves, dehumidifiers and industrial fans.

Blountville Hardware is accepting essential donations of batteries, chargers, flashlights, toiletries, paper products, diapers, first aid items, kids shoes, sanitizing wipes, non-perishable food and blankets.  Drop off during business hours at 3302 TN-126, Blountville.

Region A.H.E.A.D. (Appalachian Highlands Economic Aid Directory) is accepting donations to provide economic relief to local small businesses. Link in comments.

Elizabethton Parks and Rec at 300 West Mill Street

Crossroads Christian Church, 1300 Suncrest Drive, Gray, TN, is now the sole drop-off site for donations. Items will be accepted 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Jonesborough Community Chest is accepting donations daily from noon-7 p.m. at Jonesborough First Baptist Church, 201 E Main Street.

Price & Ramey Insurance at 1524 Bridgewater Lane #101 in Kingsport is accepting bottled water, baby items, flashlights and batteries, toiletries, cleaning supplies and pet food.

​Blountville Christian Church, 1680 Blountville Blvd, Blountville, will be collecting supplies throughout the week to support Unicoi County.  They will make runs to the distribution center this coming Thursday and Sunday. If you would like to drop off supplies, please do so between 10 AM – 2 PM, or during Wednesday night and Sunday morning services.  These items are most needed…batteries, flashlights, charger packs, candles, cleaning supplies (mops, brooms, etc.), women’s leggings, sports bras, underwear, pajama pants, air mattresses, shoes, all-weather boots, baby wipes (travel size if possible), can openers (non-electric), baby spoons, baby powder, paper plates, cutlery, plastic cups

Coal Miners Daughter Mercantile in Johnson City Mall has free womens clothing in all sizes available for those in need.

SMILE Foster Closet is organizing a mobile clothes closet to drive around the shelters for the children, as well as providing diapers, hygiene items etc for them. Link in comments

Damascus VA: Across from Food City near 744 N. Beaver Dam Avenue, Damascus. The donation center is open 10-5 Monday through Friday. Current needs include towels, sheets, bug spray, baby formula, and small propane tanks. Clothes to be taken to Faith In Action. Please be aware that town access will be restricted to town residents and volunteers providing immediate assistance.​

Glade Spring VA: Project YES is coordinating fundraising and volunteer efforts to help area small businesses. Project YES is setting up a fund to help small businesses cover expenses related to losses as a result of the storm. For now, checks can be sent to Project YES at P.O. Box 467, Glade Spring, VA 24340 or brought in person to Town Square Center for Advancement, 137 Town Square Street, or to Glade Spring Town Hall, 113 E. Glade St.

Smyth County Public Safety has opened a donation center at Old Wells Fargo Building at 102 E. Main St. in Marion, VA. Donations needed: bottled water, shelf-stable food, cleaning supplies, gas cards, toys/diapers/baby food/formula, travel-sized toiletries, feminine hygiene supplies, tools (shovels, rakes, etc.) No clothing accepted. FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Chick-fil-A Greeneville will be partnering with Trinity United Methodist Church to distribute free Original Chicken Sandwiches and 8-count nuggets for those in need. Distribution will begin at 10:30 AM on September 30th and continue while supplies last. 524 Tusculum Blvd, Greeneville TN 37745

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Parks and Rec building, at 300 West Mill Drive in Elizabethton. Volunteers will help with donation distribution.

Bottled water – Sam’s Club and Walmart had cases without limit.

Paper products – Sam’s Club and Walmart, no limits.

Generators – Jim’s Motorcycle Sales on W. Market St. in Johnson City has a decent supply of generators of varying capacity.

Generators – Berry Home Center has received a new delivery of 192 Generac generators at the Abingdon (1090 Ole Berry Rd.) and Chilhowie (170 E. Main St.) stores.
